Description

Relationships are built on trust, oddly magic works much the same way. Perhaps love is magic in the same way matter is energy? Two different ways of quantifying the same thing, alternate perspectives even.

I wanted to update with something. I'm eager to tackle more thought-provoking material (Genesis, the Berserker, Grid City, Cold Crown) too many projects and not enough time! But this love scene... omg this love scene is kicking my ass! Is anyone else about to go nuts over articulating hands/fingers in DAZ? :P I never appreciated just how much went in to posing just two characters in a scene. Nearly every shot requires completely messing up everything you just spent over an hour getting just right! And don't get me started on tweaking the lights!

This "love scene" is way longer than I had wanted... I might be rendering more than I need. I just need more practice I think - and new software perhaps! This scene alone is already taking up 11 pages and I'm just slightly beyond the part above! I spent too much time on foreplay! Well, there are some mental aspects of the transformation I wanted to consider as well and I may have taken some artistic licensing in that regard. This isn't the only love scene by the way, but the first was... rushed I think, I'm going to have to re-render a few things once I wrap this scene up.

On a related note, I'm glad to see one of my role models, VIP, is experimenting with iray now. I've spent months trying to figure this render engine out and every scene takes forEVER to get right, and still I find myself settling for good enough... I think I've just now gotten to the point where I can soften my shadows (reduce the flashlight/spotlighting effect) - but I didn't until half way through this comic! Argh! But no way I'm going back and re-rendering! Screw that noise!

I hope the more TG/TF artists take on iray the more information and techniques can be discovered using it. I have DAZ on two computers now, one can do iray the other can't (well I guess it can but the CUDA cores are so low the render times are astronomical for any decent scene). I'm tackling animating though... and boy does DAZ do a horrible job at this... I may be used to the puppet/marionette rigs I've used very briefly in the past in other professional (i.e. paid) programs to animate figures but DAZ has an odd system. I'm not even sure it uses inverse kinematics, or I'm doing it wrong... More research required! (X_x)

I'm attempting to animate just using the OpenGL engine (isn't opengl the Latin of rendering APIs?! :P) the purpose is to convincingly convey motion, weight and atmosphere before I attempt another botched nvidia rendered animation.
